Pointe Shoe Fitting FAQs

Pointe Shoe Fitting FAQs

Do I need to make an appointment for a pointe shoe fitting?

Nope! We don't make any appointments, so you are free to come in whenever works for you. We are open EVERY DAY 11-5. For first time fittings, we ask that you arrive at least a couple hours before closing so we don't have to rush anything. For return fittings, we ask that you arrive at least an hour before closing.

How long does a fitting usually take?

It fully depends on the dancer! For first time fittings, we generally take around an hour. Sometimes more, sometimes less. We carry multiple brands and styles of pointe shoes, and we try not to leave anything out. Each foot is unique (size, shape, strength, ankle mobility, ankle strength, etc.), so each fitting is unique.

What should I bring to my fitting?

We ask that you wear form fitting pants/shorts to allow us to see your feet, ankles and straight knees! We want to ensure proper technique during your fitting. If you plan on wearing tights, convertible tights are best. We will need access to your toes for padding. And be sure to clip those toenails! Any recommendations from your teacher for shoes to try or stay away from are always helpful as well.  *For return fittings, please bring your current shoes and all of the padding you usually wear to class.

What pointe shoes does Centerstage carry?

We carry multiple styles from the brands Bloch, Capezio, Russian Pointe, Nikolay (Grishko), Freed, Chacott, Gamba from Repetto and Gaynor Minden. To find out about specific styles, feel free to give us a call or email us!

Does Centerstage have a fitting fee?

No, we do not have a fitting fee. Our hope is that if you are fitted by our staff, you will support us by purchasing your shoes here. Thanks:)

Do you do group fittings?

Yes, we are happy to fit a group from your studio! We just ask that any groups over 2 dancers at a time call and work out a time beforehand, so we can make sure we are well staffed when you come in.
